TEETH WHITENING

Teeth Whitening also known as dental bleaching which involves lightening the teeth by alleviating stains and discolorations stuck on the teeth’s outer surface. This is done to brighten and restore the teeth’s natural appearance.

  • It can be done in-office or at home
  • In office is more effective as it is done under the supervision of the dentist with use of technology.
  • At home is done by the patient as instructed by the dentist. It is a long and a tedious process.

How many visits will it take?

Depending upon one's tooth color it may one or more visits and take up to one hour time at each visit.

How long will it last?

Depending upon ones maintenance it will last maximum of 2-3 years. Touch up may be required to maintain the tooth shade. For long lasting it is advised to quit smoking, limit tea and coffee and alcohol consumption.

Will I have sensitivity?

Sensitivity is seen normally and it last up to 2 days’ time.

Is this safe?

Yes, it is a very safe dental procedure.

GUM RESHAPING

 

Gums also play an important role in our smile. Gum color, shape and visibility is also important in smile design.

What is done in gum shaping?

The length of the gums covering the tooth is reduced to produce more symmetrical smile. It is done by the use of laser.

Who are applicable of gum shaping?

A person with gummy smile that is whose gums covers a large portion of tooth.

Is this painful?

Before the procedure local anesthetic is given to numb the pain. Post procedure pain is reduced by the medicament prescribed the dentist.

DENTAL BONDING

Dental bonding is nothing but tooth colored composite resin that is applied on to the tooth to correct small defects like mils spacing, fractured tooth etc.

Is this painful?

No, this is not painful.

Does bonding ruin the tooth?

No, bonding causes very minimal damage to the tooth.

Is it long lasting?

We have to keep in mind that composite is not as strong as our natural tooth. Hence if not maintained properly it tends to break.

How long does it take?

This can be done in one visit.

VENEERING

Veneering is a method of smile correction where a shell in the shape of tooth is adhered to the tooth.

 

When can this be done?

This can be done for discolored tooth, chipped tooth, spaces between tooth, tooth enamel wear off.

How is this done?

In this method, a top layer of tooth is removed and impression is taken. A shell of desired tooth shape is made which is then adhered to the tooth using adhering material.

How long does it take?

This might require two visits. The first visit to prepare the tooth and the second visit to get them fixed.

Is it painful?

Before the procedure local anesthetic is given to numb the pain.

Is veneer liable to cavity and stain?

No veneers are cavity free and stain free. But the food that is trapped between gums and veneered tooth can cause cavity. This can be prevented by proper oral hygiene.

How long will it last?

This will last average of 10 years with proper maintenance.

LUMINEERS:

This is similar to that of veneer but with a lesser thickness. Hence there is no tooth preparation. lumineers are completely reversible as they can be removed without tooth damage.

SNAP-ON-SMILE

This is an easy way to correct our smile where a shell of desired tooth is customized that is inserted by the patient when needed. This is removable and no damage is done to the tooth. Only done in case of discolored tooth.

BRACES AND ALIGNERS
